Ohio Events Calendar (2007)

Looking for something fun and exciting to do, and animal related? Then look no further! Below are a wide variety of "animal events" happening all over Ohio! Whether it's the Pickerington Petfest or the National Weiner Races in Findlay, we've got something for you!

If you're interested in attending any of these events, we urge you to verify dates, times and locations before you go. Keep in mind that there might be lots of people and other animals at any one of these events, so think about safety if your pet doesn't do well in a crowd. Above all, HAVE FUN WITH YOUR ANIMAL COMPANIONS!

9 – Pet Microchipping

MAWL will offer microchipping services to the public for a $20 per pet donation at The Doghouse Barkery, (1139 St Rt 314 N, Mansfield) from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  No appointment is necessary, but only cash will be accepted.

9 – Adopt a Valentine Pet Adoption Event
Looking for a special Valentine companion? Then come out and see visit a variety of loving cats and dogs that are available for adoption from area rescues and shelters. Adopt A Valentine runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Doggy Den, 1910 Memory Lane in Columbus.

Already have a special Valentine companion? That's okay. You can still come out and support these wonderful animals by entering our raffle and silent auction that will help raise funds for our featured rescues and shelters. And bring your pets, as they can get some great exercise in The Doggy Den's spacious indoor/outdoor play area while you shop or browse our vendors for special valentine treats and samples, information on doggy day care, grooming, waste cleanup, dog training and general pet care. Spay Day USA is the Doris Day Animal Foundation's national campaign to save the lives of homeless animals through the spay or neuter of our pets and feral cats. Since Spay Day USA's inception in 1995, event participants have spayed or neutered over 1,225,000 cats, dogs and other animals, saving millions of animal lives and taxpayer dollars!

20 – Celebrity Chef Event

Join the Capital Area Humane Society to experience a night of music, food and fun all to benefit homeless and abused animals in our community. This event invites Columbus area celebrities, dignitaries and restaurant chefs to attend and share their favorite dishes. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cahs-pets.org for $30 for members and $40 for the public. Patron tickets are available in advance for $50 and include name listing in the event program. Corporate sponsorships are available for $1,000 or $2,500 and include admission for 10 to the event. A cash bar and free parking will also be offered.
